“Artists for a Cause” is the inspiration of six local artists who joined their talents to create an annual fine art show and sale to benefit a chosen local charity. It is our goal to benefit various charities in the Redlands, CA area on a rotating basis.
The Artists for a Cause Operating Committee does the following:
Provides the location for the show in late Fall
Solely responsible for jurying a select group of Artists representing a balanced, wide variety of media, limited to 20, we hope to include all of the following media
Acrylic, Oil, and Watercolor Paint, Ceramics, Glass, Gourd, Jewelry, Photography (film, digital and digitally enhanced), Textiles, Wood
Identify small group of college age artists and provide them with a show experience
Designs and prints postcards; provides the charity and selected artists with as many postcards as necessary (up to 5000 for charity and 200/artist)
Offers a limited buffet during the event
Maintains a website devoted to our group, which will include information about the chosen charity
Donates 20% of all sales to the charity, accounting done by us (donation checks are collected at the of the show from the artists)
Maintain high reputation amongst artistic community in regards to quality of the services provided to them
We ask that the chosen charity do the following:
Integrate AFAC mailing list (~700 addresses) with their mailing list
Address and send postcards ~ 5-6 weeks before event
Follow up with email invitations to their email mailing list the week before the event
Publicize event in conjunction with AFAC
Provide docents during the show to assist guests circulating the show, and to maintain the refreshment table
Provide some food for refreshment table
Send tax receipts to each individual artist within 4 weeks of the event
Provide 1-2 paragraphs summarizing major charity works for the information board on display during the event
